Various classes in Kent

Hello, I'm Katy

Coming from an Iyengar background I have been studying yoga for most of my life. In my classes I individualise the yoga teachings in order to help each practitioner find the best personal practice. I have been teaching yoga for over 20 years now.
I was very blessed receiving teachings from Desikachar and A.G. Mohan who gave me a therapeutic understanding of practice. I worked with Shiva Rea obtaining a teacher training grade in Vinyasa Flow and studied with Sandra Sabatini and Angela Farmer who have given me the gentle, quiet strength of shakti: a more feminine approach to yoga. I work with asana, breath, mantra, meditation and Nidra-deep relaxation. Both the yoga tradition and the innate knowledge that lies within us all are well respected in my classes. Complementing my yoga practice I also teach dance and drama and incorporate these disciplines in my yoga classes for children.
